How to reach Camping Le Foci in Opi

In the green heart of Abruzzo, at the foot of Monte Marsicano
On the Camping Le Foci is located in the municipality of Opi (AQ), a charming medieval village set in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio & Molise National Park.
The campsite sits at 1,200 metres above sea level, in a spectacular position surrounded by mountains, valleys, and ancient beech forests, at the foot of the majestic Monte Marsicano (2,245 m), one of the highest peaks in the Park.
We’re far from the chaos, but easy to reach from any direction. Whether you’re coming from Lazio, Abruzzo, or Campania, getting to Camping Le Foci is simple.
By car
🚗 From Rome / L’Aquila
- Take theA24 motorway Roma–L’Aquila
- Exit at Pescina
- Follow the signs for Pescasseroli
- After about 7 km, along the SS 83 Marsicana, you’ll find the well-signposted campsite on the left
🚗 From Pescara
- Take theA25 motorway Pescara–Roma
- Exit at Pescina
- Follow the signs for Pescasseroli
- After about 7 km, along the SS 83 Marsicana, you’ll find the well-signposted campsite on the left
🚗 From Naples
- Take theA1 motorway Roma–Napoli
- Exit at Cassino
- Continue towards Atina, then Forca d’Acero
- Follow the SR 509 in the direction Opi
A campsite surrounded by the park’s most stunning landscapes
Among majestic peaks and peaceful valleys
The campsite is nestled in one of the most scenic areas of the Apennines: from here you can admire Monte Marsicano, Val Fondillo, Camosciara. With a short walk or bike ride, you can also reach the historic centre of Opi, listed among Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages.
🌿 Each morning, you’ll wake to mountain views, the scent of the forest and birdsong in the fresh air.
By public transport
For those arriving by train or bus, the easiest way to reach the campsite is:
- Train to Avezzano
- Then bus to Pescasseroli/Opi
However, we strongly recommend having your own vehicle to explore the park freely.
